The Tyranny & Bloodshed Tour at The Fillmore NY.

Okay, I said I'd update about this last night. There's a problem, however, since taking Claritin cures my allergies but makes me fucking hibernate. So I passed out all night before I got the chance. LOL.

Whoops.

Anyway. Here, we can discuss it now.

So the day of course started by me coming home from work. I had woke up and I was so tired that I went to work in PJs and flip-flops, and ended up wandering around without my shoes on for half the night. LOL. But yeah. So I came home, watched Batman Returns, and went to bed.

Kerri and I went to get the train around 4. We got snacks and were sitting in the train, and [info]sandmanownsyou and his friends came and sat right in front of us without realizing it. We ended up relocating to other seats (where there's like 10 seats that face each other) and proceeded to be rowdy and obnoxious for most of the ride.

The boys were kind of intimidated by the subway and wanted to take a cab. Kerri and I talked them into taking the subway since it's not only cheaper, but more interesting. Surely enough we had some demented old man yelling at them from across the tracks the whole time we waited. LOL.

They wanted to go get food and Kerri and I needed to be on the will call line, anyway, so we separated. We talked to two lovely young metalhead gentleman who were probably like 16 and afraid of girls, and kind of nervous. It was cute. LOL. We got in quickly and ended up in the third row from the barricade for most of the show.

Power metal from Greece. I'd never listened to them before and I was really excited during their set. Kerri and I had a blast. They had awesome energy and you could tell that they were ENJOYING themselves. It reminded me of when we saw And One open for VNV Nation and had a blast during their set because they were obviously having so much fun. LOL. So it was cool. The played for a half hour.

Their music was so fun and cute, though, I was so happy. I suppose I'm jaded from having sat through so many stupid metalcore openers - it was really refreshing to have a real metal band opening for once. They were awesome. ^^

People went a bit nuts for them. There a slight push and this completely hammered couple consisting of a skinhead and a fat chick made their way to the front and started their own little pit two feet from the barricade. Which was kind of hilarious and kind of dick to do at the same time. LOL. The pit opened up though and they had a big circlepit going, it was awesome. ^^ Kerri and I refrained from jumping in, however, since we were trying to save our energy for Arch Enemy and she wanted to see Angela up close. LOL.

The band was really serious, and the singer was absolutely nuts. It kept making me LAUGH. LOL. His eyes would bug out and he'd be like screaming and wagging his tongue and shit and it was so fucking funny. He was like, so possessed by the evil heavy metal spirit. But yeah. It was like. Kind of goofy and I kept laughing. They were pretty fun, though.

Dino Cazares is in the band and he was hilarious, he'd get on the mic and kind of milk the crowd with his ego and it was fun.

So they were a fun band to see. Their music was fine and I was laughing most of the time, so that was cute. LMAO.

I'm like, obsessed with this band. Not in a fandom type of way, but I mean I'm addicted to their music. They're one of those bands that I can't just listen to for a couple songs - if I hear them, I have to binge on them for like a week. It's kind of ridiculous. And Damage Done is one of my favorite albums evar. =D

Anyway. They came on and everyone started going crazy. There was a push, it wasn't that bad. They're really tight live and sound amazing, and Mikael (the singer) really obviously just ENJOYS himself on stage. When he wasn't singing he'd be wandering around the stage dancing to himself, and it was so freakin adorable. And he's all tall and thin and reminds me of Lestat with stubble. So Kerri and I were giggling about it during their set - that this would be like seeing The Vampire Lestat live. LOL.

A couple times he came down into the photopit and got up on the barricade. I grabbed his hand at one point. It was so cute. =D I was happy. =D =D

The played for like 50 minutes, I think. Awesome set. Their music is so beautiful and amazing, it was so gorgeous. The played Final Resistance and The Treason Wall off Damage Done and it was so surreal and I was like, dying on the inside of how awesome it was. ^^

They rocked. =D This wasn't the first time I've seen them, so it wasn't like a dire emergency like it was for Kerri. LOL. We stayed at the front for the first song. The push was RIDICULOUS and Kerri and I were laughing at how absurd it was. Once Kerri got her fix of Angela-Gossow-From-Five-Feet-Away she decided we could go to the pit, but the push was so strong that we COULDN'T LEAVE. It was HILARIOUS. We were holding onto each other and trying to get through and it was just like, hysterical. LOL. I was dying with laughter. LOL.

We eventually got to the pit a few minutes later. It was a sick pit, it was going the entire time and never really took a break. And there were a weird amount of HUGE MEN in the pit, I don't know what it was. It was like all fat dudes, and as much as I usually like to be on the edge, my common sense kicked in and I didn't want to be CRUSHED because they were all like twice my size. It was kind of scary. LOL. But yeah they were all gigantic and being really rough.

But yeah it was really awesome seeing them again with Kerri. Cause the first time I saw them, I was by myself in the pit and it made me really sad. And I missed Kerri so bad. I was like ":( Oh no I need Kerri."

LOL. So this time was much better and we were able to fangirl with each other and get all excited. =D

So that was pretty fun. I don't really remember what they played. A bunch of awesome shit. LOL. I'm so articulate. They closed with We Will Rise, I think, which they also did last time, so that was awesome. Everyone got really into it. They also had a drum solo for a few minutes and also a guitar solo. Both were really awesome and beautiful. Fucking kick ass. =D

Anyway. We regrouped after they left stage, and got water and merch. I told myself not to go nuts at the merch booth like I usually do LOL so I only bought one shirt. I bought a Dark Tranquillity shirt with tour dates on it, since I bought an Arch Enemy shirt last time I saw them. =P

So we left, and we got to the corner of Irving and 15th, and I changed into my Dark Tranquillity shirt cause I was all sweaty and nasty from the pit LOL, and then we started walking towards Union Square for the subway. There was a tourbus parked halfway up the block and as we're walking closer, Mikael Stanne (singer of Dark Tranquillity) pops out of the bus and starts walking towards us. And there I was in my tshirt and looked like a nerd. LMAO. But yeah he got closer and I said hi and thanked him for coming, and gave him a hug. He laughed at me and was like "Me? No, thank YOU!!" And he was really fucking sweet. He gave Kerri a hug and took a picture with Steve and was just really awesome.

I then proceeded to giggle about him for the next hour. LOL.

The train ride home was pretty uneventful, but not too boring. Steve and Chris fell asleep and Kerri and I talked to Mike and Jay about a multitude of things, including metal, vaginas, Kane, Kane's penis, and how hungry we were.

So Mike offered to feed Kerri and I, so we went to his house and raided his freezer and it was fucking delicious. Then we smoked a bowl and watched Coneheads, and it was horrifying. LOL.

Then we went home. And that pretty much sums it up.

Today I have to start packing for when we move. Kind of a pain in the ass. Augh. But it should be interesting, if nothing else.

I totally forgot about the old guy. I wanted to yell shit at him but I figured he'd kill us.

You know, you always wind up talking to people about weird shit on trains. Like, remember on the way back from NYC, when all we were talking about was serial killers and what they would do to their victims? And the old people got up and found different seats? Good times.

What an amazing show. I passed out for 15 hours afterwords LOL and I got a really nasty bruise, which makes me feel proud of Arch Enemy fans because I never bruise XD
